ASSOCIATED STUDENTS OF SAN DIEGO STATE UNIVERSITY
Mission Statement
Students HEAL (Health and Education Abroad through Leadership) is a nonprofit organization led by select nursing students from San Diego State University’s School of Nursing. We will be partnering up with physicians and Starfish Volunteers to embark on a medical brigade to Sangkhlaburi, Thailand in January 2018. We will be providing free health care clinics, home health care, and community outreach within 5 different villages in the rural regions surrounding Sangkhlaburi. Due to socioeconomic and multiple political and legal factors, much of the population in these areas have limited to no access to healthcare. This is why we are choosing to bring healthcare to them! Not only will we volunteer our time to provide this care, but we are also responsible for bringing $17,000 worth of medication and medical supplies with us to aid in our endeavor. How you can help: Because this program is nonprofit and studentled, all supplies for our trip must come from donations and fundraising events. One of our biggest events is our Silent Auction titled ‘A Night of Compassion.’ We are kindly requesting for a donation towards this event, in either monetary or auction item form. In exchange for your donation, you will be listed as an in-kind sponsor and announced from the stage during our Silent Auction fundraising event, as well as advertised on our website. Those providing a monetary donation or item donation valued at $100 dollars will be recognized as a Silver Sponsor, $500 will be recognized as a Gold Sponsor, and $1,000 will be recognized as a Platinum Sponsor.
