ENVIRONMENTAL COALITION OF SOUTH SEATTLE
Mission Statement
Founded in 1994, ECOSS’ mission is to educate and empower businesses and diverse communities to implement environmentally sustainable practices. We represent and create collaboration between key, and often-conflicting segments of Seattle's neighborhoods: businesses, residents, municipalities, environmental organizations, and community groups. Our efforts forge much-needed connections between these different sectors. We ensure equitable access to knowledge and resources by bridging language, cultural, and technical gaps. Our work focuses on delivering resources and education on water quality, resource conservation, clean energy, and green space access. Our work focuses on delivering resources and education on water quality, resource conservation, clean energy, and green space access. We envision thriving communities that are environmentally sustainable and equitable. Our roots are in addressing the imbalance of environmental resources and services available to the South Park neighborhood and lower Duwamish River.
