Mission Statement
Kid in the Corner is a non-profit organization founded in 2017 after the tragic loss of Zachary Sumner to suicide. Zach was a kind, smart, witty, business-minded 16 year old who, after a short battle with mental illness, took his life in a very manic episode. After his death, we realized that there were many aspects of his story that needed to be shared to prevent this from happening again. Our mission is to support the Kid in the Corner, whoever that may be, and to shatter the stigma around mental illness. Our vision is that no family ever suffers the loss of a child by suicide. We are dedicated to helping kids who are struggling, feeling alone, or needing support.
