Mission Statement
Since opening in 2000, Houndhaven has rescued 1,700 dogs and placed them with loving families. Starting in 2023, we shifted our focus to helping dogs get desperately needed specialized veterinary care that their otherwise responsible owners cannot afford. Through the years, we saw a number of cases where dogs could have stayed in their loving homes if that sort of care was provided, and we always provided that care to our alums who were in that situation.
