AIR FORCE AID SOCIETY INC
Mission Statement
Every day, across every Air and Space Force base and every mission set, Airmen and Guardians stand watch so our nation remains secure. And when their world falls apart—whether a baby arrives dangerously early, a spouse dies unexpectedly, or a government shutdown leaves a young Airman unable to buy groceries—Air & Space Forces Aid Society (AFAS) stands in the gap. Founded in 1942 at the height of global conflict, AFAS has spent more than eight decades doing one thing with relentless focus: ensuring those who protect our nation are never left to navigate their hardest days alone. Led by a board of senior officials including Secretary of the Air Force and service chiefs of both the Air and Space Forces, AFAS is the official relief organization serving those who defend our country and helping them remain mission-ready—physically, mentally, and financially. We relieve emergency financial stress so service members can focus on the mission. We open doors to education so families can thrive. We deliver high-impact community programs that steady military families amid moves, deployments, and the unpredictable rhythm of service life. When disaster strikes, including government shutdowns, wildfires, hurricanes, tornadoes, pandemics, AFAS is the first call for help.
