Mission Statement
CASA stands for Court Appointed Special Advocates. CASA Volunteers are trained community members appointed by judges to advocate for the best interests of children who have experienced abuse or neglect and are involved in the child welfare system. These dedicated volunteers ensure that each child’s voice is heard and their needs are not overlooked as they move through the court process. As the state association, Kansas CASA delivers vital services to strengthen and unify the work of local programs. This includes statewide training, technical assistance, data systems, public awareness, legislative advocacy, and grant funding. Our efforts help ensure that more children have access to consistent, high-quality advocacy that leads to better outcomes—safety, stability, and a permanent home. Our mission is to enhance the success of existing and developing Kansas Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) programs with sustainable resources, training, partnerships, and funding. Our Vision is to have a CASA volunteer for every child in the Kansas foster care system, that provides one-on-one advocacy for children in the child welfare/court system.
