OPERATION ENDANGERED SPECIES
Mission Statement
Operation Endangered Species is an organization that focuses on saving endangered species from extinction. As a teacher at Whitney Young High School in Chicago, Illinois, one of our co-founders, Todd Katz, identified a need for environmental education for Chicago Public School students. Instead of using the basic textbook approach, Katz decided to create an organization that would interactively educate his students while positively changing our planet. In 2011, Katz partnered with fellow teacher Paul Ritter to create Operation Endangered Species. This foundation fulfills their mission of educating students across Chicago about the environment and protecting the Earth. Educating our students about endangered species inspires them to make a meaningful change in the world. We want to spread the message that one can never be too young to make a difference.
