Mission Statement

Mission: Safe Families for Children prevents child abuse and neglect by offering respite care for children with trained, volunteer host families, motivated by compassion to help low-income, desperate parents facing a serious crisis. These crises range from homelessness to substance abuse or mental health help that parents cannot pull themselves out of without temporary help with the care of their children. Safe Families believes that supporting at-risk families prevents much of the abuse and devastation that causes the need for foster care. Our goal is to offer community, mentoring and counsel to parents, safe, temporary respite care, and wrap around services to help families stabilize and grow strong in the long-term.
