AMERICAN CHEMICAL SOCIETY
Mission Statement
From promoting global health and sustainability to energy and competitiveness, public policy decisions have a tremendous influence on chemists in industry, yet these considerations are rarely discussed in chemistry education.?? Graduate students in the Chemistry Department at MIT are interested in learning about policy challenges in the chemistry field. We are coordinating a one-day symposium at the American Chemical Society National Meeting featuring experienced leaders in chemistry-related science policy. The event will challenge young researchers, chemical professionals and policy practitioners alike to tackle important issues in health, education, energy, and sustainability. We will provide a setting where chemists from across the country can discuss new ideas for scientific involvement in policy issues.??
