Mission Statement

The primary mission of the Central United States Earthquake Consortium (CUSEC) is: “The reduction of deaths, injuries, property damage, and economic losses resulting from earthquakes in the central United States.” We pursue this mission by advancing disaster preparedness among our Member States and building resilience by helping people, communities, and businesses prepare for, survive, and recover from earthquakes.
