Mission Statement
The Central United States Earthquake Consortium (CUSEC) is a registered 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization based in Memphis, Tennessee, specializing in earthquake preparedness. For more than 30 years, CUSEC’s mission has been to reduce loss of life, injuries, property damage, and economic losses resulting from earthquakes. Today, we pursue this mission by advancing disaster planning among its Member States and building resilience by helping people, communities, and businesses prepare for, survive, and recover from earthquakes. Our efforts are moving disaster preparedness (for all natural disasters) forward.
