Mission Statement
To be a truly democratic organization that is closed to no one because of race, creed, age or sex; that operates openly and effectively in pursuit of it social purposes. To assist and encourage older persons to be active and effective citizens and participants in the economic, social and cultural life of their community and nation. To promote and encourage the participation of seniors citizens in the Southwest Side Senior Service Organization, the Garfield Ridge Satellite Senior Center and associations throughout the City of Chicago and its surrounding suburbs. To support and advocate a variety of policies, laws and programs that promote the general welfare and the interests of senior citizens. To operate the Southwest Side Senior Service Organization and the Garfield Ridge Satellite Senior Center and fulfill the duties and responsibilities set forth in any agreements concerning operations of the center.
