Mission Statement: The RES is dedicated to the preservation of a natural place where outdoor education and recreation work side by side to establish an outdoor ethic in our community, especially among our youth to enhance the wonders of nature in all of us in other words... “Where recreation and education meet nature” Mission: The Res of Mishawaka is a unique, youth-centered nature preserve and 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving St. Joseph County. Operated by Preservation of the Res, Inc., it blends recreation, education, and conservation to create a safe and meaningful outdoor space for local families, youth groups, and Scouts. With strong Scouting roots and a mission to connect young people with nature, the Res has become a trusted resource for building confidence, leadership, and community.
