OK PROGRAM OF OAKLAND
Mission Statement
The OK Program is a mentoring and leadership development model that focuses on African American males, 12 to 18 years old. The goals of the OK Program are to develop leadership and critical thinking skills, promote academic excellence and reduce the high rates of incarceration and homicide amongst young African American males. Additionally, we improve relationships between law enforcement and African American communities. Our collaborative team mentorship model brings together local police officers, school districts and the faith community with the goal of improving lives while "empowering African American men and boys to transform their communities."
