SAN GABRIEL VALLEY CHINESE CULTURAL ASSOC INC
Mission Statement
Founded in 1968, SGVCCA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and promoting Chinese cultural traditions in Southern California through Lion and Dragon dance. Each year, we perform in front of tens of thousands of spectators. Audiences light up when a blinking, curious lion approaches, or when Barney—our steam-breathing red dragon, carried by over 15 performers—winds its way through a parade. Behind these vibrant performances is discipline, teamwork, and dedication. SGVCCA holds free classes twice a week to train our youth group in artistry, physical stamina, leadership, and collaboration—skills that extend far beyond the performance floor.
