Mission Statement

Sacramento Youth Band (SYB) provides music lessons and performance opportunities in concert and jazz bands to children of all ages and income levels. Additionally, SYB sponsors outreach programs to provide music instruction to children in local elementary schools that do not offer music as part of their curriculum due to lack of funding. We recognize the positive impact that learning and playing an instrument has upon academic and social development.
