FLOYD COMMUNITY VOLUNTEER FIREDEPARTMENT INCORPORATED
Mission Statement
The primary mission of the Floyd Community Volunteer Fire Department is to provide necessary public safety services required to protect our community and families wherever or whenever their well being may be threatened by man made or natural crisis. The department is staffed by local residents who have chosen to provide their time and expertise to protect and serve their neighbors in the event of fire, medical or other emergency situations. We provide service to the residents of the City of Floyd, Floyd township, West Cedar township and support surrounding fire department in Floyd, and Mitchell counties through mutual aid response agreements. When emergency or disasters arise we will answer the call to anyone needing our help. We maintain a number of pieces of specialized equipment and apparatus, which are critical to our mission. The members attend formal training monthly and perfrom organized maintenance of assigned equipment once a month. We attend certification courses for fire, rescue and hazmat throughout the year. These activites are demanding and require personal sacrifices and the dedication of not only the emergency service volunteer, but their families as well. Your volunteers stand ready to serve you if and when the need arises and sincerely appreciate the support we have received from our community.
