The Lynhurst 7th and 8th Grade Center is a Marion County middle school. We pride ourselves in our diverse student body, hard working teaching staff and dedicated community members.There are currently 1,240 students enrolled at our school, coming from approximately 12 counties, speaking 23 languages. For the last three years, our international festival has served as a means to reach out to the families of our diverse population. It inspires the ELL (English language learning) students of our school, of which 350 that are currently or were at one time part of the language assistance program; as well as it motivates their families to take a more active role in their children’s education. It brings our community together in celebration of our roots and heritage. Each year we invite speakers, performers (singers, dancers, musicians), artists, and exhibitors to put on an international variety show. As our school is 94% free and reduced lunch, many of our students and volunteers will not be able to purchase food at the event.
