Mission Statement
We are a volunteer-based non-profit organization committed to providing services and activities that promote education on self-improvement and that help others achieve a state of greater physical, mental/spiritual, and social well-being. We believe that, in doing so, we can help empower individuals to develop their potential to live a productive and fulfilling life and to positively contribute to their communities. Our activities offer opportunities to learn, to express and to serve our community in Torrance and in the greater South Bay Area. One of our biggest projects is our annual project called “Fios de Luz (Threads of light)” where we crochet over 200 beanies for cancer patients at Torrance Memorial Hospital. We believe, It is often in serving others that we realize our potential to make a positive difference in the world and in our lives. Since 2012, we have supported or currently support, over 15 organizations, with financial donations resulting from volunteer-based fundraising events, donations of food, or other material donations, and/or with our volunteer work multiple organizations and projects that share our values and that contribute to our local communities and beyond, including: Casa Hogar El Faro (an orphanage in Tijuana, Mexico) Someone cares soup kitchen (Costa Mesa) Music program for São Domingos Municipal School (in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) The Volunteer Center, Torrance Cheerful Hearts Foundation(Africa) Open floor society Fred Jordan Mission in Downtown Los Angeles Family forward Orange County Rescue Mission A21 And more....
